"What music do you listen to?"
"Everything!" they say.
Whenever I get asked this, whether it's
by an incredibly inebriated person at a place I really shouldn't be, or by a friend of a friend - I
never quite know how to respond. It's difficult because playing a song for them is a
whole thing and listing out bands until they say "I love them!" is kind of an O(n) like exercise. This page doesn't really solve the
problem either, but it'll do.
12-Course Tasting Menu
I figured an interesting idea would be to construct a playlist like a 12-course tasting menu with 12 songs. Tasting menus are often expansive, experimental, and offer a wide range of flavors and textures. The structure is intentional and often follows a progression that balances intensity and variety.
This was a useful exercise in displaying a wide range of tastes and structuring them cohesively. I'd be interested in hearing other people's "tasting menu" equivalent.
